Yale Steps Up to The Oche and Sponsors Local Lad Wayne ‘The Wanderer’ Jones Wolverhampton’s Wayne ‘The Wanderer’ Jones began his career in the British Darts Organisation (BDO) in the late 1980s and reached the final of the British Open in 1990. Jones’ best achievement to date was reaching the final of the prestigious Winmau World Masters in 1999 when Andy Fordham ended his hopes of a first major title. He then switched to the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) and made his debut at their version of the World Championship in 2004. In 2006 he produced his best ever World Championship performance by reaching the semi-finals. David Herbert, Head of Marketing for Yale, said: “We are extremely proud to be sponsoring Wayne ‘The Wanderer’ Jones for all of 2013. Yale is based in Wolverhampton, so the link between us and local lad Wayne is an obvious one. We’re all looking forward to following Wayne’s career and seeing how he gets on in 2013.” Jones said: “I will be wearing the Yale badge with pride, especially knowing that a local company has got behind me in such a way. I feel very honoured to be the first professional darts player that Yale has sponsored, and I’ll do my best to lead Wolverhampton to victory in my 2013 tournaments.” .
