Yale make donation to Age UK’s shops

The security company has sent over 250 foot bolts to the charity in chrome and brass worth over £21 each (RRP).

Foot bolts can be used as additional security for external doors and are pedal operated.

Here are some of the features of a door bolt:

• Foot pedal operated, press once to lock, press again to unlock
• Ideal for people who have trouble bending, also very little force is needed to operate
• Extremely easy to fit.

The foot bolts, will be sold in select Age UK shops and Yale hopes the ease of use will help older people to feel more secure in their own homes - without the physical demands that some locks can have.

David Herbert, Head of Marketing said:
“We all worry about our older relatives, friends and loved ones - especially when it comes to security in their own home. Foot bolts are a great product for those in later life. The bolts are easy to operate and can give that additional security – and the peace of mind that comes with it. We are proud to support Age UK and will continue to do so in the future.”

Jo Needler, Retail Development Manager at Age UK, said:
“We’re really pleased to have the support of Yale and thank them for their generosity. We are sure that the locks will be well-received in our shops raising vital funds to deliver a range of national and local support services to help ensure older people across the country can make the most of later life.”
