Yale celebrates double win at DIY Week awards

Yale Team Award Win

The annual DIY Week Awards celebrate excellence and innovation in the DIY and garden sector, and this year the sophisticated Smart Phone alarm system by Wolverhampton based security manufacturer Yale was heralded the DIY product of 2014.

Yale’s Easy Fit SmartPhone Alarm takes security beyond the realms of the home to the power of the smartphone. It can be operated using an iPhone / Android smartphone or via a standard web browser. Once the alarm has been triggered, an external siren will sound to raise awareness of an intruder, as well as sending an email and push notification (iOS) to the user’s smartphone to notify them of the alert.

For added safety and peace of mind, seconds after the alarm sounds, the smartphone can receive images captured on a wall-mounted PIR camera to provide visual confirmation of what has caused the alarm.

David Herbert, Head of Marketing for Yale, said: “Winning a coveted DIY Week award is a fantastic achievement for Yale, let alone winning two! This win highlights our continued commitment to creating innovative products that meet the increasing demands of our security-conscious customers”.

Voted for by a panel of influential and respected experts in the retail industry, the DIY Week Awards were presented at a glittering awards dinner at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on Monday evening.
