Troubleshooting

The Keyfree Smart Door handle will not disengage using the code or fob

Please make sure the spindle is facing to the side and that the white wheel on the inside under the handle has the notch facing in the 12 o’clock position.

I am trying to change my pin on my Keyfree Smart Door Lock, however the PIN is not being retained.

Please make sure you are referring to the correct instructions, There are two versions with different instructions.

If you have a 'Keyfree Connected' model please follow these instructions http://www.yale.co.uk/en/yale/couk/productsdb/smart-locks/Keyfree-Connected-Smart-Lock/

If you have a 'Keyfree' model please follow these instructions .....

The batteries in my Keyfree Smart Door Lock are completely flat, how do I open my door?

Open the emergency cover and connect a 9-volt battery to the emergency power supply terminal. Press any button then enter your PIN code. Press the ‘Enter’ button.

The lock is making a strange sound

This could mean that batteries are running low, or the module is not fully inserted. Please check the batteries and the module.

The alarm is sounding on the lock

This will mean that either the plug is not connected or the wire has been pinched on installation.

I can’t lock the door via the app (connected version only)

The app only disengages the handle allowing you to lock/unlock the door. So there needs to be someone there to manually depress or lift the handle.

The lock is making a whirring sound when trying to open with the pin code/Remote Fob

Please check that the spindle has the arrow facing to the side, and that the notch on the white wheel on the internal plate is facing in the 12 o'clock position.

My lock is saying 'welcome to the Yale digital world'

This means that the batteries are loose. Please tighten the screw at the bottom of the battery compartment.

When I push the handle down it says 'door securely locked' and when I lift the handle up to lock it says 'Door Open.

This means that the 'lever voice handing' has not been done correctly; please refer to this section of the installation guide, which can be found here http://www.yale.co.uk/en/yale/couk/productsdb/smart-locks/Keyfree-Connected-Smart-Lock/

My key fob(s) are not registering with my Keyfree Lock

Remove the module and batteries, wait 1 minute and insert the module first followed by the batteries. Try again to register the fobs.
